Oral hygiene for animals

Oral hygiene for animals, especially dogs and cats, is essential to prevent dental problems and maintain their overall health. Poor hygiene can lead to tartar build-up, gum infections (gingivitis) and, over time, periodontal disease, which can affect their quality of life and well-being. To maintain their oral health, regular toothbrushing is recommended. Use a brush and toothpaste specially designed for animals, as human products can be toxic. In addition, chew toys, dental treats and solutions to add to water can reduce plaque formation and freshen breath. Dry food, such as kibble, can also help limit tartar. Finally, regular visits to the veterinarian allow the animal's oral condition to be monitored and, if necessary, scaling to be carried out under anesthesia.
